On August 2nd -3rd, we hosted a very special show with Zuni fetish carvers Lena Boone and Evalena Boone.... it was a terrific show with this mother and daughter who are so well known for their exceptional work. They made two beautiful Fetish Necklaces while they were with us... an Amber Hummingbird Necklace and a Turquoise Necklace with a variety of animal Fetishes.

We also kept some of their Fetishes to have in both shops and we look forward to visiting with them and their family members next time we are in Zuni.

On September 29th and 30th, 2007, we hosted Zuni Carver Todd Westika and Zuni Arts Trader Tony Eriacho for our Zuni Fetish Show and Sale. Todd was wonderful in sharing with us how he makes his fetishes, the material he uses and a bit of history about how and when he learned to carve fetishes.

Friday, March 30th and Saturday, March 31st were special days for us at Southern Exposure!

Mary works in the Mosaic Inlay on Shell method and her son Anthony does Tufa Sandcast work. They are both from Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico which is north of Albuquerque. Anthony's son Cordel will also join us this year which is very special to have three generations of this very talented family with us at Southern Exposure.

Mary and Anthony’s work has been featured in Arizona Highways magazine, Native Peoples Magazine and New Mexico Magazine. They exhibit their fine jewelry at the Santa Fe Indian Market, the Red Earth Show, the Eight Northern Pueblos Show and the Heard Museum Show.
