This brightly colored lizard is made of hundreds of tiny seed beads pressed by hand into beeswax with a bit of pine resin applied to the base to hold the beads in place on the wood carving beneath. The ancient culture of the Huichol people is expressed in the designs utilized in their artwork. This lizard (not including the log it's on) measures 16in long 6in wide and 4in deep.
